Lancaster, a city in Los Angeles County, experiences moderate to heavy traffic, especially during rush hours. Accidents are more common on major road like Antelope Valley Freeway (Interstate 14) and local streets, often due to heavy commuter traffic and commercial vehicles.

Lancaster, California, has grown from its originals as a humble railway stop during the 1800s and is now home to major defense contractors such as Boeing, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, BAE, and government agencies, such as the NASA Dryden Flight Research Center. Lancaster is also the location of Edwards Air Force Base where Pilot Chuck Yeager broke the sound barrier in 1947.
