Lancaster, CA – A 66-year-old woman is dead following a two-vehicle crash in Lancaster Friday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The police identified the deceased as J. Karwowski, 66, of Palmdale.
The fatal accident happened at about 2:30 p.m. October 31 on Avenue D at 70th Street West.
Authorities said a 2002 Ford operated by Karwowski was heading north on 70th Street West when it entered directly into the path of an eastbound 2021 Peterbilt driven by a 24-year-old Riverside man, resulting in a collision.
J. Karwoski succumbed to her injuries.
Police said the two drivers were wearing seatbelts.
Authorities believe alcohol and or drugs were not factors in the crash.
The incident led to the closure of some roads in the area for about two hours to allow on-scene investigations.
The accident remains under investigation.
