Apple Valley

One of the newest cities in California, Apple Valley was incorporated in 1988. It is located in the Victor Valley in San Bernadino County and the closest neighboring cities are Victorville and Hesperia. Despite its recent founding, Apple Valley is a mid-sized city with a population of approximately 69,135 and has grown each year for the last decade.

The Apple Valley area was explored by Spanish explorers for gold in the 19th century but became more of a thoroughfare for travelers. Known by various names until the 1940s, Apple Valley’s name is usually considered to be related to John F. Appleton. Perhaps because of its heavy traffic and proximity to Hollywood, Apple Valley has strong ties to filmmaking and has served as the filming location of dozens of Hollywood films.
