According to the report, a 25-year-old man driving a 2008 Mercedes Benz west on Avenue N attempted to pass another vehicle using the north shoulder

Palmdale, CA. – One person was killed and three others were injured in a hit-and-run accident in Palmdale on Friday evening, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place near Avenue N and 22nd Street West at about 5:10 p.m. September 19.
According to the report, a 25-year-old man driving a 2008 Mercedes Benz west on Avenue N attempted to pass another vehicle using the north shoulder.
The driver lost control and swerved into the eastbound lanes, where the Mercedes collided with a 2021 Lexus IS Compact car and a 2022 Honda HR-V subcompact crossover SUV.
According to the report, a 31-year-old Lancaster man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Three other parties were taken to Antelope Valley Medical Center with moderate to major injuries.
The driver of the Mercedes, identified as K. Littiz, 25, and his passenger, K. Wright, 22, both of Compton, fled the scene after the crash but were later caught and booked into the Palmdale Sheriff's Station.
The suspects are believed to have been involved in another crash prior to the deadly accident.
CHP said impairment is suspected to have played a role in the crash, which remains under investigation.
