Pomona

Pomona, located at the junction of several major freeways including the 10, 57, and 60, experiences frequent traffic accidents. The city’s location within the Inland Empire makes it a hub for both commuter and local traffic.

Pomona is a city in Los Angeles County, California with a population of 149,058. Originally occupied by the Tongva tribe, Pomona was officially incorporated into the United States in 1875. Named after the Roman goddess of fruit, Pomona has blossomed ever since.

The population of Pomona ballooned with the signing of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, which prompted the first Anglo-Americans to settle in the area. Its Mediterranean climate and natural beauty has made Pomona an attractive location to move to since it first entered the United States.

Today, Pomona is home to the Los Angeles County Fair and various other cultural events, several institutes of higher learning (California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and the Western University of Health Sciences), and the investment of multinational corporations which include Verizon, Pomona Electronics, and First Transit as well.
