Lancaster, CA. – A driver was killed early Thursday morning after a collision between a car and a big rig at 30th Street West and Avenue G, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The crash was reported around 6:45 a.m., with crews responding to find one person trapped inside a catastrophically damaged white Volkswagen Passat.
The car was dragged sideways by the big rig after the initial impact. The semi-truck had only minor damage to the rear of its trailer.
The Passat's driver, described by witnesses as a woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. The big rig driver was not injured.
Authorities cleared the intersection shortly after 7:15 a.m.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
