Garden Grove

Garden Grove, located in the heart of Orange County, is intersected by several major highways, including the 22 Freeway. The city’s busy streets and proximity to major attractions make it a common location for traffic accidents.

Founded by Alonzo Cook in 1874, the town of Garden Grove was a tiny rural area until the arrival of the railroad in 1905, after which the town was able to grow and thrive by shipping orange, pepper and strawberry crops to the rest of the United States. Currently, Garden Grove has approximately 170,000 residents, many of whom are ancestors of Vietnamese refugees that escaped the country after the Vietnam War. The town is well-known in Orange County and throughout the state for its diverse population and for its annual Strawberry Festival, which draws an average of 250,000 visitors per year and is one of the most well attended and lucrative festivals in the U.S.
