Long Beach, CA – The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's office has identified a 66-year-old male pedestrian killed in a crash Sunday night on Wardlow Road in Long Beach as John Leuders.
The deadly wreck was reported at around 9:05 p.m. on November 9, 2025, on Wardlow Road near Norwalk Boulevard, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Reports revealed that a white Honda CR-V, driven by a Garden Grove woman, 56, was traveling eastbound on Wardlow Road when it struck the Leuders, who was in the roadway outside the crosswalk.
Leuders was declared dead at the scene.
The Garden Grove woman remained at the crash site and cooperated with the investigators.
Speed, distracted driving, and driving under the influence are not believed to have been factors in the collision.
An investigation is underway.

Long Beach, CA. – A man died Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in Long Beach, according to authorities.
The fatal collision happened around 9:05 p.m. on Wardlow Road near Norwalk Boulevard, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
Reports indicate that the pedestrian was crossing the roadway when a white Honda CR-V, driven by a 56-year-old woman from Garden Grove, hit him.
When officers arrived, Long Beach Fire Department crews were already providing aid before taking the man to a nearby hospital.
He was later pronounced dead.
His identity is being withheld pending family notification.
Police said the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Preliminary reports indicate the pedestrian was outside a crosswalk. Speed, distraction, and impairment do not appear to be factors.
