Man Killed in Long Beach Pedestrian Accident on Wardlow Road

The collision happened around 9:05 p.m. on Wardlow Road near Boulevard, the Police Department reported.

Police Investigate Deadly Long Beach Pedestrian Crash on Wardlow Road

Long Beach, CA. – A man died Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in Long Beach, according to authorities.

The fatal collision happened around 9:05 p.m. on Wardlow Road near Norwalk Boulevard, the Long Beach Police Department reported.

Reports indicate that the was crossing the roadway when a white Honda CR-V, driven by a 56-year-old woman from , hit him.

When officers arrived, Long Beach Fire Department crews were already providing aid before taking the man to a nearby hospital.

He was later pronounced dead.
His identity is being withheld pending family notification.
Police said the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Preliminary reports indicate the pedestrian was outside a crosswalk. Speed, distraction, and impairment do not appear to be factors.
