Merced

Merced, a central hub in the San Joaquin Valley, sees high traffic on major roads and highways. Auto accidents frequently occur on Highway 99 and other busy routes linking to nearby cities and farmlands.

Incorporated as a city in 1889, Merced is located in the San Joaquin Valley and has a population of over 80,000 people. Having earned the nickname, “The Gateway to Yosemite,” for its relative proximity (less than two hours by car) to the iconic national park, Merced has more than doubled its population since 1980.
