
Los Banos, CA.- One person was killed in a head-on collision on Highway 165 in Los Banos on Saturday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported at around 3:30 p.m. on November 29, 2025, near Cotton Gin Road.
According to CHP, a blue 2021 Toyota Camry heading north on Highway 165 drifted into the southbound lanes and collided head-on with an oncoming Toyota Sienna. The Camry then drifted into the side of the roadway and crashed into the guardrail.
The driver of the Camry, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was declared deceased at the scene. The four occupants of the Sienna were hospitalized with minor to major injuries.
The identity of the deceased driver was withheld pending notification of the next-of-kin.
Alcohol and drugs were not believed to have been factors in the accident. The Merced-area CHP is investigating the incident.
