San Jose, CA. – A motorcyclist died after being struck by a car Monday night on Highway 101 in San Jose, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The incident occurred around 8:48 p.m. on the southbound side of the highway near Tully Road.
At around 8:45 p.m., a motorcyclist was heading south when, for an unknown reason, the bike’s rear wheel began to fishtail back and forth, causing the motorcycle to overturn.
The rider came to a stop and was hit by a passing car.
The 43-year-old man from Gustine (Merced County) died in the accident.
The driver of the car sustained minor injuries.
Multiple lanes of the highway were closed during the investigation.
