Hesperia

Hesperia, located in California’s High Desert region, sees a fair share of traffic accidents due to its location along Interstate 15. The area’s rapid growth has led to increased traffic, with collisions becoming more frequent.

The city of Hesperia was named for Hesperus, the Greek God of the west. Laid out as a town in the late nineteenth century by railroad land developers, Hesperia was born of the railroad, but came to life as highways crossed the state of California. Famous boxer Jack Dempsey helped to kick-start the growth of Hesperia in the 1950s, financing construction and building the Hesperia Inn and Golf Course. Still, Hesperia remained a small town of 5,000 residents in 1970. Today, Hesperia has a population of over 92,000.
