Escondido

Escondido, located in North County San Diego, sees frequent traffic accidents on major routes like Interstate 15 and State Route 78. As a rapidly growing suburban city, its roads are often congested with both local and commuter traffic, leading to an increased number of collisions.

Escondido is situated in a shallow valley surrounded by rocky hills, it is one of the oldest cities in San Diego County. Originally an agricultural area known for its muscat grapes, Escondido is today home to a variety of industries, including health care, retail and micro brewing. Residents enjoy the city’s many parks, including the San Diego Safari Park, a sister zoo to the San Diego Zoo which showcases animals in open habitats. Escondido is also home to the Deer Park Buddhist Monastery, one of three in the United States under the direction of noted Zen teacher Thich Nhat Hanh.
