Concord

Concord, a thriving city in the East Bay, encounters regular traffic incidents on I-680 and CA-4. These accidents can disrupt the flow between local neighborhoods and nearby metropolitan areas like Oakland and San Francisco.

First founded with the name “Todos Santos” (All Saints), Concord was historically a center of agriculture in California. Concord grew grapes, walnuts, tomatoes, and hay, and fields of wheat surrounded the town with massive ranches. Today, while many Concord residents commute to San Francisco and Oakland, Concord is bustling with corporate headquarters, as well as large stores that meet the needs of the over 122,000 people who make the city their home.

Concord residents continue to gather in Todos Santos town square for festivals, farmers’ markets, and bustling restaurants and shops. The annual Concord Jazz Festival brings the city to life with jazz music and dance.
