, CA. – 20-year-old Frank Cazares Jr. died in a single-vehicle collision that happened Tuesday, August 12, in Pleasant Hill, the County Sheriff's Office reported.

The Concord resident was involved in the crash around 8:14 a.m. on the Monument Boulevard off-ramp from the northbound 680 Freeway.

Investigators determined that Cazares was driving a silver Lexus SUV in the slow lane when, for an unknown reason, he veered right toward the off-ramp, lost control of the car, and went up an embankment, where the vehicle overturned.

Cazares was ejected from his SUV during the crash. He was not wearing his seatbelt.

The driver died at the scene.

An investigation is ongoing.
