Woman Hospitalized After Dog Attack in Redding

, CA. – Dianne Presta was injured, and her dog died when they were attacked by another dog Saturday evening in Redding, as per a local news source.

The incident took place around 6 p.m. at the Lowden Lane senior apartments.

According to the article, Presta was walking her dog Booboo when, during the walk, they came across another woman walking her dog. The second dog broke free from its leash and attacked Booboo.

Presta attempted to rescue her dog and sustained several bites to her hands and neck.

Neighbors in the apartment complex alerted emergency personnel. An ambulance responded to the scene and transported Presta to a local hospital, where she was treated and released.

Presta's dog was taken to the vet, where it died while being examined.

The animal regulations office, which reportedly did not respond to the scene of the attack, wrote the owner of the attacking dog a citation and placed the animal under quarantine under her care.
