Santa Barbara, Calif. – Authorities have released the name of a woman who was struck and killed by an Amtrak Train in Santa Barbara last weekend.
According to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office, the victim was 65-year-old Eileen Pearl Dumong from Santa Barbara.
Dumong was struck and killed by a northbound Pacific Surfliner in the area of Cacique and South Quarantina streets at about 10 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2023.

The fatal crash happened just before 10 a.m. on the railroad tracks near Cacique and South Quarantina streets.
Firefighters and other emergency personnel responded to the scene and found a woman who had been hit and killed by a northbound Pacific Surfliner, authorities say.
The name of the victim was withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
This this the second incident involving a pedestrian and train on the South Coast this week. A 16-year-old girl died Monday morning after being hit by a train near Hollister Avenue.
