Chula Vista, CA – An 82-year-old man was killed after his vehicle collided with another at an intersection in Chula Vista on of mid last month, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
The accident happened at about 2:44 p.m. on March 16, 2024, in the area of E. L Street and Melrose Avenue.
Preliminary investigation revealed that William Hokr, 82, was driving a Chevrolet pickup truck and tried to make a U-turn maneuver on East L Street at Melrose Avenue.
For some reason, Hokr did not complete the maneuver while in the intersection and struck
Hokr was seriously injured in the incident and was transported by ambulance to the Sharp Chula Vista Hospital where was diagnosed with multiple blunt-force injuries and admitted to the facility with a poor prognosis.
Authorities say Hokr’s condition continued to decline until March 25 when he succumbed to his injuries.
