At Least One Person Sustains Severe Injuries in Oceanside Big Rig Accident on Interstate 5
Oceanside, California (September 16, 2023) – At least one person was hospitalized with severe injuries after a big rig collision that happened early Friday morning in Oceanside.
The California Highway Patrol said the wreck occurred around 2:25 a.m. on southbound Interstate 5 at Aliso Creek Rest Area near Camp Pendleton South.
CHP said a Volvo SUV collided with a semi-truck for an unknown reason.
Police officers, firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene shortly after the collision.
At least one person sustained severe injuries in the crash.
CHP said one person was arrested for DUI and released to the hospital.
