Woman Dies in Buttonwillow Car Crash on Rowlee Road near Burbank Street

Bakersfield, California (November 6, 2023) – A 21-year-old Bakersfield woman was fatally injured in a crash Monday morning in Buttonwillow.

The California Highway Patrol responded to a deadly crash on Rowlee Road south of Burbank Street at around 6:56 a.m.

Per the report, the Bakersfield woman was driving a northbound Nissan Sentra on Rowlee Road, south of Burbank Street at an unknown speed.

At the same time, a 33-year-old Buttonwillow man was driving a John Deere Tractor ahead of the Nissan Sentra in the same direction about 20 miles per hour.

For unknown reasons, the Nissan did not slow for the tractor traveling at a slower speed and rear-ended the tractor.

The Nissan driver was declared dead at the scene

The second driver suffered minor injuries.

Alcohol and drugs were not believed to have played a role in the crash.

No additional information regarding the collision was provided.

An investigation is ongoing.
