Edgar Guzman-Tenangueno and Jose Mendoza-Menjivar Killed in Head-On Collision at Blanco Road and Hitchcock Road

Salinas, California (November 1, 2023) – The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of two people who died in a head-on collision in Salinas on Monday night.
The fatal crash happened around 11:53 p.m. at Blanco Road and Hitchcock Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A 2001 Chrysler Sebring driven by 30-year-old Edgar Guzman-Tenangueno from Marina was traveling east on Blanco Road when it drifted into the westbound lanes and collided head-on with a 2021 silver Honda Civic driven by 21-year-old Jose Mendoza-Menjivar from Salinas.
Both drivers were killed in the accident.
A 21-year-old female passenger in the Civic suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Natividad Medical Center for treatment.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
