Driver Seriously Injured in Colton Car Crash on 10 Freeway at SR-215

Colton, California (November 4, 2023) – A driver was hospitalized following a two-vehicle traffic collision on 10 Freeway in Colton early Saturday morning, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
At about 2:31 a.m. CHP officers received reports of a person trapped inside a vehicle on 10 Freeway west of Highway 215.
Preliminary investigation showed that a Toyota COA crashed into a semi-truck. The driver of the Toyota became trapped inside the vehicle and had to be pulled out.
As per the CHP, the driver sustained major injuries and was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center. All lanes of the freeway were shut down briefly to allow transportation of the patient.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
