Tacoma, Wash. – Authorities have released the name of the second driver who was killed in a head-on traffic collision on I-705 in Tacoma early last month.
Thomas C. Greenan, 24, of Bellingham, was operating the vehicle that was traveling in the wrong way on the interstate.
The fatal crash happened around 3:50 a.m. Sunday, October 29, 2023, on Interstate 705.
According to Washington State Patrol, Greenan was driving southbound in the northbound lanes of 705 Freeway when he collided head-on with a vehicle operated by Hassan H. Ali, 43, of Seattle.
Greenan and Ali were rushed to St. Joseph Medical Center where they later died.

Tacoma, Wash. – Authorities are investigating a wrong-way traffic collision that claimed the lives of two men in Tacoma last month, according to Washington State Patrol.
The deadly crash happened at about 3:50 a.m. Sunday, October 29 on Interstate 705 near State Route 509.
Reportedly, the crash was caused by a wrong-way driver who was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of I-705, just south of Highway 509. The wrong-way driver collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle.
Both drivers were seriously injured and were taken to St. Joseph Medical Center where they later died.
According to the Washington State Patrol, drugs or alcohol may have played a role in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
