Peoria, Arizona (October 29, 2023) – One person died in a wrong-way crash early Sunday morning in Peoria.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety says the accident happened on Loop 101 near Thunderbird Road at around 3:45 a.m.

A Chevy Silverado was reportedly traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of the highway when it collided head-on with a band tour bus that was carrying members of the “Piano Men: Generations” band.

The Chevy driver suffered major injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died.

Two people on the bus were transported to the hospital with moderate and minor injuries.

Five other passengers on the bus were treated at the scene and released.

Authorities say impairment appears to be a factor in the wreck.

More details about the accident were not released.
