San Diego, CA – The San Diego County Coroner's Office has identified a motorcyclist killed in a Thursday evening collision on Interstate 5 in San Diego as 21-year-old Ivan Isaiah Johnson of Seaside.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the wreck happened at around 5:55 p.m. on March 20 on Interstate 5 and Pacific Highway.
Reportedly, Johnson was riding a southbound Kawasaki motorcycle on the freeway just north of the Pacific Highway onramp when his motorcycle laterally collided with a Nissan SUV merging into the same lane of travel.
Johnson was ejected from the motorcycle onto the roadway and was declared deceased at the crash site.
No additional details regarding the incident were reported.
The accident remains under investigation.
