Cathedral City, CA. – A pedestrian died after being struck by a car on Saturday evening in Cathedral City.
According to the Cathedral City Police Department, the accident happened around 8:50 p.m. on Dinah Shore Drive and Via Echo
27-year-old Yuvinka Ponce, of Cathedral City, was walking in the area and was hit by a car operated by Anthony Vega, 35.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
Vega remained at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
