The 66-year-old man driving the van was hospitalized with minor injuries
Oakland, CA. – A woman was killed in a head-on collision that left a man injured early Sunday morning in East Oakland.
According to California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 2:40 a.m. in the 6300 block of San Leandro Street.
The woman was driving a Honda Civic eastbound in the westbound lanes when she collided head-on with a westbound Ford cargo van.
A short time later, a westbound Nissan Altima was sideswiped by an Infiniti SUV that was also traveling westbound.
The impact of the collision caused the Infiniti to hit the Honda while the woman was still inside.
The woman driving the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 66-year-old man driving the van was hospitalized with minor injuries.
The driver of the Infiniti did not stop at the scene and was yet to be located.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
