28-year-old Myryam Castillo of Fillmore was arrested following the collision that killed her son.

Ventura County, CA. – One of the victims of a deadly DUI accident that happened on July 2 in Ventura County has been identified as 34-year-old Maria DonDiego of Oxnard.
DonDiego and a 5-year-old boy died in the collision that occurred around 8:45 p.m. on westbound Highway 126, also known as Ventura Street, just west of D Street near Fillmore.
28-year-old Myryam Castillo of Fillmore was arrested following the collision that killed her son.
According to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, Castillo was driving a car eastbound when she crossed a two-way center turn lane on Highway 126 and collided head-on with DonDiego's vehicle, which was headed in the opposite direction.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and found six people with injuries.
One of the patients, now identified as DonDiego, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other five – including two children who suffered serious injuries – were transported to hospitals for treatment.
One of those patients, a 5-year-old boy who is the son of Castillo, later died at the hospital.
Investigators believed Castillo had been drinking prior to the crash. She was arrested on two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. She was booked into jail and later released after posting $100,000 bail.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Ventura County, CA – Two people, including a child, were killed and four other people were injured after two vehicles collided at an intersection in Fillmore Wednesday night.
The Ventura County Sheriff's office said the crash happened at about 8:45 p.m. on July 2 near the intersection of Highway 126 (Ventura Street) and D Street.
The sheriff's office said two vehicles collided head-on in the westbound lanes of Ventura Street, west of D Street.
Deputies said a 28-year-old Oxnard woman died at the scene.
Five other people, including a 5-year-old Filmore boy, were treated at the site before being transported to local hospitals. Unfortunately, the 5-year-old child later died at the hospital.
No additional details were provided.
The crash remains under investigation.
