Driver Fatally Run Over by Own Truck on Pier T Avenue in Long Beach Identified

, CA. – The County Medical Examiner identified the semi- driver who died in a collision involving two semi-trucks in Long Beach as 47-year-old Lihuan Wu.

The incident happened around 6:40 a.m. in the 2600 block of Pier T Avenue.

According to investigators, Wu had parked his truck along the south curb of Pier T Avenue and exited the vehicle, standing near the engine compartment.

A second truck slammed into the rear of Wu's truck under circumstances still under investigation.

The force of the impact pushed the first truck forward which consequently pushed Wu to the ground before running over him.

Long Beach police, firefighters, and paramedics responded to the scene.

The paramedics attempted to resuscitate Wu but were unsuccessful. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the second truck stopped and remained at the scene.

Long Beach, CA. – A man died after he was run over by his semi-truck after it was rear-ended by another semi-truck Wednesday morning in Long Beach.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, the incident occurred around 6:40 a.m. in the 2600 block of Pier T Avenue.

Authorities said a man parked his semi-truck on the curb line and exited the vehicle then stood next to the engine compartment.

At that time, another passing big rig crashed into the back of the parked semi-truck, pushing it forward.

The driver of the parked truck was run over by his vehicle.

Responding emergency personnel attempted life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the second truck stopped and cooperated with investigators.

The cause of the crash was not immediately established, but authorities said speed, intoxication, or distracted driving were not believed to be contributing factors.
