Mesa, AZ – A man is dead and a woman is hospitalized with serious injuries following a collision involving a motorcycle in Mesa on Saturday night, according to the Mesa Police Department.
The deceased rider has been identified as 34-year-old Seth Hoffman. Hoffman's passenger, identified only as a woman, was seriously injured in the crash.
The deadly collision happened at about 9:16 p.m. on June 28 near Extension Road and University Drive.
According to the police, two people were riding on a motorcycle when they were involved in a collision with a vehicle operated by 59-year-old Danica Zunich.
The man and the woman on the bike were transported to the hospital where the man, later identified as Hoffman, was pronounced dead. The female passenger remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition.
Zunich was not injured in the crash.
Investigators said impairment was a factor in the crash, adding that charges of manslaughter and aggravated assault are pending the completion of the investigation and toxicology results.
