Escondido, CA – The San Diego County Medical Examiner has released the identity of a bicyclist who was killed after being hit by a car at an intersection in Escondido earlier this month.
The victim was identified as 67-year-old Robert Cosio.
Cosio was hit by a vehicle on June 7 at about 9:10 p.m. on East Valley Parkway near Ash Street.
Authorities said Cosio was riding a bicycle across E Valley Parkway when he was hit by a Honda Accord.
Cosio was pronounced dead at the scene.

Escondido, CA – A cyclist died after he was struck by a car while riding a bicycle Saturday night near an intersection in Escondido.
According to authorities, the incident happened around 9:10 p.m. on East Valley Parkway near Ash Street.
The man was reportedly riding a bicycle across East Valley Parkway, about 100 feet west of Ash Street, when he was hit by a Honda Accord.
The man died in the crash.
The driver of the car stopped and remained at the scene.
Drugs and alcohol were not believed to be contributing factors.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
