According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported around 12:46 a.m. on the southbound Orange (57) Freeway near Imperial Highway.
A motorcycle and a gray sedan were involved in the collision.
First responders located the motorcyclist down in the HOV lane.
The rider died from injuries sustained in the accident.
The Nos. 1, 2, 3, and HOV lanes were blocked during the investigation.
