Sacramento, CA – A motorcyclist is dead following a two-vehicle traffic collision on Highway 99 in Sacramento early Thursday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly collision happened at about 1 a.m. on northbound Highway 99, south of 12th Avenue.
A preliminary investigation indicated that a motorcycle rider was traveling northbound on Highway 99 when, for some reason, they lost control and crashed into the back of a red Acura RSX.
The rider was ejected from the bike, and the motorcycle continued across the lanes of traffic.
The motorcyclist, whose name has not been released, was killed in the crash.
According to CHP, neither alcohol nor drugs are a factor in the incident.
The crash remains under investigation.
