San Diego, CA – The authorities have identified a driver who was killed after his vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a forklift at a construction site along Harbor Drive in National City earlier this month.
The Medical Examiner's office identified the victim as Michael Redzio, 24, of Saddle Brook, New Jersey.
Authorities said the Redzio was driving a 2023 Ford F-150 pickup truck with two passengers inside when, for some reason, the vehicle left the roadway in the 1200 block of Harbor Drive and crashed into a parked forklift.
The deadly incident happened at about 2:04 a.m. on June 4.
Redzio became trapped in his vehicle and was extricated by responding paramedics. He was pronounced dead at the scene at about 2:33 a.m.
His two passengers suffered minor injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.

San Diego, CA. – A 24-year-old man died, and two others were injured in a collision involving a parked forklift that happened early Wednesday morning in the Barrio Logan neighborhood of San Diego.
The incident was reported around 2:04 a.m. at 1200 Harbor Drive and Park Boulevard.
Authorities said the man was driving a 2023 Ford F-150 pickup truck with two passengers inside when, for an unknown reason, he ran through roadblocks near the intersection before crashing into a parked forklift.
The man died in the crash.
His two passengers were hospitalized with minor injuries.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
