Grant County, WA – The Washington State Patrol (WSP) is investigating a rear-end traffic collision that claimed the life of a Quincy man on State Route 282 in Grant County early Saturday morning.
The deadly crash happened at about 3:15 a.m. on State Route 281 near milepost 9, just north of Quincy.
WSP said a silver 2007 Toyota Camry, operated by a 36-year-old Quincy man, was going northbound at a high rate of speed when crashed into the rear of a slower-moving 2023 semi-truck trailer.
The 36-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim's name has not been released.
It was not immediately clear if the man was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The driver of the semi-truck, identified as 58-year-old Randey D. Boen, also of Quincy, was not injured.
The crash is under investigation.
