San Jose, CA. – The family of the motorcyclist who was severely injured in a hit-and-run crash Monday morning in San Jose identified him as Jeff Garmany.

According to the San Jose Police Department, around 6 a.m. on June 9, police officers responded to the 1500 block of Fruitdale Avenue near Southwest Expressway after they were informed about a hit-and-run crash involving a motorcyclist.
The officers found Garmany lying in the roadway with severe injuries.
Reportedly, the motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Fruitdale Avenue when a black car made an illegal U-turn and moved into Garmany's path.
The vehicles collided, leaving Garmany seriously injured.
The car fled the scene before authorities arrived.
Garmany was hospitalized with a broken neck, severe spinal damage, a shattered wrist, a punctured lung, among other injuries.
He underwent multiple surgeries and is alert and responsive but cannot feel his legs and fingers, according to a GoFundMe Page opened by his family to help raise funds for his medical expenses.
On Thursday, SJPD reported that the suspect, identified as Lara-Moya, was located on Wednesday in San Jose and arrested for felony hit-and-run.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
