A semi-truck traveling westbound on I-10 lost control and crashed through the median
Cathedral City, CA.- The two men who were killed in a multi-vehicle collision in Cathedral City on Thursday have been identified by the Riverside County Coroner's Office.
Francisco Sicairos Leon, 58, of Desert Hot Springs, and Miguel Macias, 49, of Santa Ana, died in the accident that took place at around 6:51 a.m. July 10, on Interstate 10 near Date Palm Drive.
A semi-truck traveling westbound on I-10 lost control and crashed through the median.
The rig tipped over and slid into the path of oncoming eastbound traffic.
Some eastbound cars were unable to avoid the rig and slammed into it.
Two parties, later identified as Leon and Macias, died following the incident.
The operator of the big rig was treated for minor injuries.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
