Los Angeles, CA. – The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner identified the pedestrian who was fatally hit by a car Friday night near an intersection in South LA as Danny Estis, 62.
The driver of the involved SUV fled the scene after the collision.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. on Western Avenue near 83rd Street.
Estis was crossing Western Avenue outside a marked crosswalk when a light, possibly white-colored SUV heading northbound on Western hit him.
Estis was pronounced dead at the scene.
