Ramona, CA – The authorities have released the name of a 78-year-old Santa Ysabel man who was killed in a single-vehicle collision on SR-67 in Ramona on July 12.
The San Diego County Medical Examiner identified the deceased driver as Daniel Wright Richards.
The crash happened at about 1:37 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, on northbound Highway 67, north of Shady Bend.
Authorities said Daniel Richards was driving a 2018 Toyota Camry northbound on Highway 67 when he made an unsafe turn to the right, and the car veered off the roadway and crashed into a tree.
Richards was transported to Palomar Medical Center Emergency Department where death was pronounced at about 5:01 p.m. that day.

Ramona, CA – A 78-year-old Santa Ysabel man was killed in a solo vehicle crash along State Route 67 in Ramona on Saturday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly crash happened at about 1:30 p.m. on July 12, on Highway 67, north of Shady Bend.
CHP officials said the man was operating a 2018 Toyota Camry northbound on Highway 67 when he made an unsafe turn to the right, and the car veered off the roadway.
The Camry drove in a northerly direction and ended up crashing into a tree.
The man was taken to Palomar Medical Center, where he died. The name of the deceased driver has not been released.
The crash remains under investigation, and police said impairment is not a factor.
