Escondido, CA. – A cyclist died after he was struck by a car while riding a bicycle Saturday night near an intersection in Escondido.
According to authorities, the incident happened around 9:10 p.m. on East Valley Parkway near Ash Street.
The man was reportedly riding a bicycle across East Valley Parkway, about 100 feet west of Ash Street, when he was hit by a Honda Accord.
The man died in the crash.
The driver of the car stopped and remained at the scene.
Drugs and alcohol were not believed to be contributing factors.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
