Truckee, CA. – A bicyclist died after being hit by a vehicle Friday afternoon in Truckee, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The incident happened around 12:12 p.m. on southbound State Route 89 at mile marker 4.8 near Hobart Mills Road.
A small pickup truck ran over a bicyclist under unclear circumstances.
Firefighters responded to the scene and pronounced the cyclist dead.
The highway was closed in both directions during the investigation.
