Medical Examiner Identifies Man Killed in Crash on 710 Freeway in Long Beach

Long Beach, CA. – 23-year-old Christopher Gonzalez died in a two-vehicle collision that happened earlier this week in Long Beach, the Department of Medical Examiner reported.

The wreck was reported around 9:30 p.m. Monday on the Long Beach (710) Freeway near the Long Beach International Gateway Bridge, formerly known as the Gerald Desmond Bridge.

California Highway Patrol officers, Long Beach Fire Department firefighters, and other emergency personnel responded to the scene.

The responders found two vehicles involved in the crash.

Gonzalez died in the accident.

The southbound lanes of the freeway near the bridge were closed for about two hours following the collision.

Long Beach, CA. – At least one person was injured in a traffic collision that happened late Monday night in Long Beach.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 9:28 p.m. on southbound at the Gerald Desmond Bridge.

Two vehicles were involved in the accident.

CHP officers, Long Beach police, Harbor Patrol officers, Caltrans personnel, and firefighters responded to the scene.

The report said at least one person died in the crash.

It was unclear if anyone else was injured.

Southbound I-710 at Gerald Desmond Bridge and the Pico Avenue and Ocean Boulevard on-ramps to southbound I-710 were closed following the collision.
