Hollywood, CA – A male bicyclist who was killed in a hit-and-run traffic collision at an intersection in West Hollywood Thursday night has been identified.
The Los Angeles Medical Examiner's office identified the victim as 27-year-old Blake Ackerman.
The crash occurred at about 9:45 p.m. on July 10 at the intersection of Fountain Avenue and Gardner Street.
Authorities said Ackerman was riding a bicycle westbound on Fountain Avenue when he was struck by an older-model, white BMW sedan heading in the same direction.
The vehicle fled the scene after the crash.
Ackerman was taken to a hospital where he died.

Hollywood, CA – A man on a bicycle was killed in a hit-and-run collision in West Hollywood Thursday night.
The deadly crash happened at about 9:45 p.m. on July 10 at the intersection of Fountain Avenue and Gardner Street.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Information Bureau said a man was riding a bicycle westbound on Fountain when he was struck by an older-model, white BMW sedan, heading in the same direction.
The BMW did not stop after hitting the cyclist. Investigators said the car is suspected to have a smashed windshield on the passenger side as a result of the collision.
The bicyclist was transported to the hospital where he died.
The crash remains under investigation, and no additional details are available.
