Fresno, CA.- A bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run collision that took place in Fresno earlier this month, according to the authorities.
The incident took place in the area of Belmont Avenue and Thesta Street at about 6 p.m. on May 11.
According to the police, a person was riding a bicycle in the area when they were hit by driver who fled the scene after the accident.
The victim was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center, where the victim was pronounced deceased.
Police conducted their investigation and days later arrested a suspect in connection with the accident.
The suspect, Luis Ortiz, was booked into the Fresno County Jail on multiple charges including vehicular manslaughter, hit-and-run, and DUI causing injury.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
