According to the report, Beau Douglas Gibney, 36, of Sisters, was riding a black Husqvarna motorcycle southbound on Cascade Lakes Highway when he drifted off the west side and slammed into a tree stump
Bend, OR.– A motorcyclist was Killed in an accident that took place on Tuesday near Bend, according to the Oregon State Police.
The wreck happened on the Cascade Lakes Highway near milepost 24.
According to the report, Beau Douglas Gibney, 36, of Sisters, was riding a black Husqvarna motorcycle southbound on Cascade Lakes Highway when he drifted off the west side and slammed into a tree stump.
The impact ejected Gibney and his passenger, Joeana Erica Spackman, 34, of Bend, from the motorcycle.
Gibney died in the crash while Spackman was flown to a hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities said speed and impairment were suspected to have played a role in the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
