The San Diego Police Department said Andres Gonzalez was driving a black sedan that rear-ended at a United States Postal Service's tractor-trailer.
Fallbrook, CA – The driver who was killed in a two-vehicle traffic collision on Interstate 15 in Fallbrook last week Tuesday has been identified.
The San Diego Medical Examiner's Office identified the driver as 24-year-old Andres Francisco Gonzalez of Fallbrook.
The deadly collision happened at about 2:49 a.m. on May 20, 2025, on northbound Interstate 15 just south of State Route 76.
The San Diego Police Department said Andres was driving a black sedan that rear-ended at a United States Postal Service's tractor-trailer.
Responding crews found the sedan lodged underneath the trailer and was fully engulfed in flames.
Firefighters managed to put out the fire before the San Diego County Coroner's Office extricated the Andres and pronounced him dead at the scene at about 3:05 a.m.
No other injuries were reported.
The accident remains under investigation.
