San Diego, CA. – A man and a woman were hit and injured by a car Saturday afternoon while crossing a street in the Teralta West neighborhood of San Diego, the San Diego Police Department reported.
The incident occurred around 5:06 p.m. in the 4200 block of Orange Avenue at 42nd Street.
Authorities said a 50-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman were crossing from the north sidewalk of Orange Avenue to the south side in a crosswalk when a 19-year-old woman driving a 2017 Hyundai Elantra attempted to turn left onto westbound Orange Avenue but hit the pedestrians.
The man sustained lacerations to the back of his head and complained of pain to the neck. The woman suffered a broken pelvis and complained of pain to her legs and back. The victims were taken to hospitals for treatment.
The driver of the car stopped after the accident.
SDPD is investigating the collision.
