According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Compton Station, the incident occurred around 9:17 p.m. at Atlantic Avenue and Sportsman Drive, east of a 710 Freeway overpass.
Compton, CA. – Two people were killed, and another was seriously injured in a multi-vehicle pileup that happened Friday night at an intersection in Compton.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Compton Station, the incident occurred around 9:17 p.m. at Atlantic Avenue and Sportsman Drive, east of a 710 Freeway overpass.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a driver was traveling south on Atlantic and right under the 710 Freeway when they collided with another driver. The first driver continued southbound and hit a third car.
The report said the driver of the first and third vehicles died at the scene.
The driver of the second car sustained serious injuries.
Extrication tools were used to free the victims from the wreckage.
Authorities are investigating the incident.
