South Gate, CA. – Two drivers died when their vehicles collided Monday morning at an intersection in South Gate, the South Gate Police Department reported.
The wreck occurred around 6 a.m. at Imperial Highway and Garfield Avenue next to a 7-Eleven parking lot.
Deputies with the sheriff's department were returning from the scene of a domestic dispute on Exeter Street in Paramount when they came upon the crash and stopped to offer aid.
Two cars were involved in the collision.
One driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other driver died at a hospital.
Details about the cause and manner of the accident were not available.
The intersection was closed during the investigation.
